Selling your business is a process that should ideally last a number of years.

After i) the initial valuation, the process continues with ii) preparation and iii) execution.

The valuation should be higher on phase iii) than phase i) thanks to preparation.

How do you know when it is the right time to start any of the above?

Selling should be executed when the business is strong and this means that if you have not yet achieved most of your business potential you will not achieve the best possible valuation.
